HISTORY  

Nalanda Maha Vidyalaya is located in a picturesque location in the historic town of Nalanda. It was started 16th June of 1934 with 104 students & 2 teachers as a  primary school. Mr. L. Senanayake appointed as the first principal in the school.

The cornerstone for the first building which can be seen currently was kept in 1957 by Sir. Jhone Kothalawala and the building was opened for the student by Mr. S.W.R.D. Bandaranayake at the same year.

Nalanda Maha Vidyalaya passed more turning points in school history & it provides shade for the education around 700 students.
